SHACARA ROGERS is an accomplished vocalist, songwriter, and vocal coach whose artistry bridges the worlds of jazz, Gospel, soul, and inspirational music. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA [USA] she is a proud alumna of Howard University, where she earned both her Bachelor of Music (2012) and Master of Music (2014) degrees. While at Howard, she was a standout soloist with Afro Blue, the university’s celebrated vocal jazz ensemble, and with the world-renowned Howard Gospel Choir, the first collegiate choir of its kind. These formative experiences prepared her for a career that has taken her onto some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Since graduating, Shacara has shared the spotlight with an extraordinary roster of artists including Patti LaBelle, Al Jarreau, Geri Allen, Dianne Reeves, Esperanza Spalding, Patrice Rushen, Terri Lyne Carrington, Kim Waters, and Lizz Wright. Her powerful, expressive voice and commanding stage presence have earned her admiration from audiences and peers alike. In 2018, she released her debut album 16 Moments, a deeply personal and stylistically diverse project that introduced her as a versatile recording artist. Its breakout single “Hey Mister” continues to resonate years later, still charting on streaming playlists and receiving regular airplay on SiriusXM Radio.

Shacara’s career has also extended internationally. In 2019, she embarked on a four-week tour of Russia, performing to sold-out audiences in Moscow, Kazan, Smolensk, Tver, and other cities. This was a journey that cemented her reputation as a vocalist with truly global appeal. Her momentum carried forward into 2021, when her single “His Will” won the Wammie Award for Best Gospel/Inspirational Song in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region. That same year, she released her second full-length album In Jesus’ Name I Sing, which received widespread acclaim for its artistry and heartfelt message.

Equally passionate about education, Shacara returned to Howard University in 2015 as an adjunct professor, teaching voice in the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts. She also founded Keys to the Vox Vocal Academy, where she coaches singers and public speakers in vocal technique, health, and performance. Her achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including a DownBeat Award for Outstanding Vocal Soloist, top prizes at the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival Vocal Competition on, and participation in the Kennedy Center’s prestigious Jazz Ahead program.

Today, Shacara Rogers continues to balance her roles as a performer, educator, wife, and mother with grace and determination. Whether on stage, in the classroom, or through her entrepreneurial work, Shacara Rogers is committed to using her gifts to inspire, empower, and elevate everyone she encounters.
